The Greatest Coffee I've Ever Had

By Jeff Barry

I live in New York, home to some of the best food in the world. The same can be said about coffee too. There are so many great makers of coffee in this city that it's sometimes hard to keep up with them all.

A few weeks ago, I walked by Stumptown Coffee Roasters, a place that I had heard about but never ventured to try. I had heard good things, but never realized just how much I'd grow to love their coffee in such a short time period.

The original Stumptown Coffee Roasters is based in Oregon, and there aren't many locations to date. Still, the coffee here is treasured by its patrons and the chain's expansion to New York is a pleasant surprise.

I've tried both the iced house brew, as well as the regular coffee, and both are phenomenal. These are some of the best beans I've ever tasted, and they really give me quite the energy kick.

The pricing here is a pleasant surprise too. Most should be prepared to pay higher prices for higher grade coffee beans, but the difference is nothing more than a few cents at best. I'd say it's well worth the price, as I'll gladly pay for the quality.

I've read reviews online after trying Stumptown's coffee to see if others feel the same way that I do. What I found was that many Seattle residents swear by the chain, calling it the best coffee that Seattle has to offer.

In a city like Seattle, there's so much great coffee. That's one of the city's claims to fame. If avid coffee drinkers are claiming that this is the best around, I'd say that's a pretty high quality endorsement right there.

Unless you live in New York, Portland, Seattle, or certain California cities, you may not be able to get to a Stumptown yet. While the chain may expand, for now, you may have to settle on trying it out whenever you end up in one of these cities. - 31875
